Dear all,
Everyone is back to work. For us at The Family, September always means getting together to plan the year ahead, and then getting away (kind of a little bonus vacation) with portfolio entrepreneurs for what we call 'Summer Camp'. It’s an important moment because The Family is a rather large organization now, and not everyone here works with entrepreneurs on a daily basis. Spending some time with them, even if it’s not for actual work, is a good way for everyone to remind themselves why The Family exists. And obviously, it’s also an opportunity for founders to get to know each other.
Sadly, this year I had to cut the weekend short to visit my grandmother, who’s 92 and not in good shape. So the weekend was spent on the road with my father to get to Clermont-Ferrand, a city right in the middle of France that is best known as the home of Michelin, while also being the capital city of Auvergne, a beautiful mountain region that has been my grandmother’s home for some time.
